Goal

Remove stored (old) files from your browser so you can see the latest version of your website.

When to Use This

  • You don’t see recent updates

  • The website looks outdated or broken

  • Hard refresh did not solve the issue

Steps

On Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome

  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (Mac)

  3. Select “Cached images and files”

  4. Click “Clear data”

  5. Reload the website

On Safari (Mac)

  1. Open Safari

  2. Go to Settings → Advanced

  3. Enable “Show Develop menu in menu bar”

  4. From the top menu, click Develop → Empty Caches

  5. Reload the website

On Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge

  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete

  3. Select “Cached images and files”

  4. Click “Clear now”

  5. Reload the website

Expected Outcome

Your browser will load the latest version of the website.

If It Still Doesn’t Work

Try:

  • Opening the website in Incognito / Private mode

  • Trying another device or network

Tip

Clearing cache is useful when updates are not visible after changes.
